Your Web site is your ticket to successful online marketing. It should not drive away your prospective customers. Here are some dos and don’ts that you need to be aware and practice.
- Don’t clutter your Web site with massive files that no one cares to read. It will slow your Web page opening. Traditionally, it takes 3.5 seconds to open a Web page. You should aim to open your Web page in a second or two.
- Periodically review your user password and PIN (Personal Identification Number) requirement. If you have rotating system that requires your customers to change their password and PIN periodically for their safety and security, provide them with adequate notice and display at a prominent place on your Web page.
- Carefully design when you require your customers to type CAPTCHA security codes. This is a code that is randomly selected and requires your customers to type in before accessing your order page or before placing an order. It is there to protect your customer. Sometimes these codes are case sensitive. If you require one, consider when to type in the code. It should not complicate your customer ordering process.
- Avoid complex payment procedures. Consider Simplicity with optimum security.
