Scaling Your Display Advertising

Posted on February 11, 2014

This article was written by Ted Dhanik

Getting a campaign to start producing consistently for you can be a challenge in and of itself. Scaling that campaign to grow is another game entirely. You need to have a clear idea of what works with your campaign, and define clear goals to success. Once you know what to expect, it’s time to make it happen.

Segment Winning Campaigns

First, define your most successful campaigns and be clear about what makes those ads work. Make note of all targeting settings you have, and double check your leads database to see if you are actually recording leads according to those preferences. Never assume something is working because the campaign is working. Gather as much empirical data as you can.

Buy More Direct

Display advertising networks are great places to get a lot of traffic at a reasonable price, and you should continue to utilize them even after you’ve scaled your best campaigns. But, you always want to cut down the unnecessary traffic your campaign might take in.

Invest Properly

The true meaning of scaling means actually growing your entire enterprise. Take your similar campaigns and work with them to figure out what can help them grow. Test frequently, investing in placements and traffic networks that you know will deliver quality traffic to your ads. Review all of your data frequently, especially when establishing a new campaign.
