Posted on July 7, 2014

The IT industry is a very fast-paced, and constantly changing field. The amount of technology and innovation in this field occurs so fast that you would not literally be able to catch up if you are not good at what you do. If you have employees in your company that handle your IT department, especially your website or online operations, you need to make sure that you have them under contract. This employee contract protects you and your company from any risk or exposure against competitors or your own employees, for that matter, from using any sensitive information against you, which would be detrimental to your business. A standard employee contract would provide terms and conditions in which both the employer and employee would be obligated to obey. As you may already know, contracts have the force and binding effect of law provided that it is not contrary to law, morals, good customs, public order, and public policy. From your contract, you can stipulate things like a confidentiality agreement, a non-compete clause wherein your employee would be effectively bound and obligated not to divulge any sensitive or confidential information that he may have had access to during his tenure in your company. And of course, you would also be able to stipulate how long he would be able to work for you. You would also be able to stipulated what acts are permitted and prohibited during the course of his employment. Make sure you are protected at all times, get an employment contract.
