4 Dummy Text Generators That Can Help You

Posted on October 1, 2013

It’s expected of web designers who are creating a site for their parents to create one that is as finished as possible. This involves inserting text and photos wherever possible.

The reason, as should be obvious, is to give the person for whom it is being designed a look at how the site could look when ‘live’.

Probably the simplest way to do this is by inserting text where text is required as well as the same for pictures too.

Since writing well doesn’t come naturally to most people, a dummy generator should work just as well.

So, with that said, here are 4 dummy text generators of the serious and fun variety that can help you:

#1: Gangsta Lorem Ipsum

As you guessed, this one’s light and makes use of Snoop Dogg’s ‘izzle’ to describe just about everything. Considering its popularity, this dummy text generator takes Lorem Ipsum talk into the ‘izzle’ language.

#2: Twipsum

This one is based on Twitter, and uses text from tweets that have been posted recently along with a few words that you can enter too. Of course, you can end up with entire paragraphs based on the conversation on Twitter.

#3: Fillerati

This generator does not use faux languages but actually uses words and paragraphs from famous stories to fill up space. With the ability to create text for both headers and paragraphs, this one seems to be in line with the needs of the modern designer.

#4: Random Text Generator

This dummy text generator might not be all that much fun but it works for designers who can do without an array of features. It has a number of languages that you can use for international clients too.

Tip of the Day

Hold volunteer positions in organizations. This is a great way to stay visible and give back to groups that have helped you.
