What is Edge Reflow?

Posted on April 23, 2013

With web design standards now conforming to that of responsive design, the need for web design tools to make this easily achievable presents itself clearly.

Edge Reflow, which is a part of Adobe’s Creative Arsenal suite, makes this possible now possible for just about everyone who wants to design a website that works well on every type of device it is viewed with.

But what is Edge Reflow?

Simply put, it is a visual editor for responsive layouts and has been introduced so as to close the gap between static design tools such as Fireworks and Photoshop and the ability to work with code in the web browser itself.

Without a doubt, the product has been created keeping in mind the recent changes that the web design world is having to keep up with as well as the complications this brings as they continue to use older tools that struggle to help them express their vision in the form of a well-designed website.

What makes Reflow such a handy tool is that apart from being able to create a flexible website using Reflow’s image, box and text tools, it is easier than ever to find the breakpoints of your web design and thus adjust the layout accordingly to window width.

While working with this tool not only will this improve your design on tablets and mobiles but also gives you the ability to test your website in an in-app browser offered by Reflow but also in other real world browsers as well.

Last but not the least, while being very handy for web designers, developers can also used this tool so as to replicate or recreate complex responsive layouts within a shorter period of time.

Tip of the Day

Hold volunteer positions in organizations. This is a great way to stay visible and give back to groups that have helped you.
